Oh, Canada

Friday's journey took us across the border to Canada.  Upon arriving in Canada a bit early, we decided to stop by Niagara Falls, which are indeed very large waterfalls.  We took in the view for awhile before continuing on to Toronto, home of the Blue Jays.

Our hotel in Toronto was actually connected to the stadium, which was just about the most convenient thing ever.  It was nice to get to and from the ballpark without worrying about parking or public transportation.

(Note: I walked away from the computer for a moment and Dustin typed a whole fictitious section about me doing a wildebeest impression... sneaky, that one...)

These are hotel rooms that actually look into the stadium - cool, huh?  (We did not have one of these.  They are very expensive.)

The stadium itself is one of the infamous concrete donuts, so there was a lot of concrete, not a lot of intimacy, and a long distance between the seats and the field.  Dustin gives it a C+ due to the overwhelming amount of concrete and underwhelming number of fans, but I think that's a bit harsh - it was fairly pretty overall, and they had good food and drink options, which is always a plus.  The fans who decided to show up were really obnoxious, though, so maybe he has a point.

Hi, Weaver!  Too bad you weren't pitching!

We saw the Blue Jays face the Angels, which worried me, knowing about our amazing powers of home-team victory.

Not so many fans here...

At first, it looked like the Angels were strong enough to withstand us, as they took an early lead... but then Toronto scored five runs in the fourth inning.  It was not a great night for Santana.  The Angels came back and tied it in the 7th, but our hopes were dashed when Toronto scored again, winning 7-5.  We're sorry, Angels, you never stood a chance with us in attendance!

This was our 7th game of the trip and concluded the baseball part of our road trip adventures.  In two road trips, we covered 15 ballparks (that's half) and saw 14 home team victories.  Naturally, we've seen most of the other parks at some point or another, so overall, Dustin still has five to go and I have eight (we're hitting Cleveland in September, so that will knock off one more).
